Our lawyers represented a company from UAE in a court dispute with a Russian company related to a contract on the international sale of goods. The case took 10 court hearings, and the resulting judgment went for 45 pages. Russian court accepted our argument that it is necessary to take into account the court practice of other jurisdictions (members of the Vienna Convention) on interpretation of provisions of the convention. In its judgment the Russian court explicitly relied on UNCITRAL Digest of Case Law on the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
